The Kern County Chapter of the California Turtle & Tortoise Club was founded as a branch by Linda Moore in April "98", then went on to become a Chapter a year later in April "99".

The Kern California Turtle & Tortoise Club is dedicated to educating people about the preservation and conservation of turtles and tortoises throughout California.

Desert Tortoises (Gopherus agassizii) are native to Kern County making them the main focus of our chapter.  They are both state and federally listed as a threatened species.  Many of our members also own a wide range of other species.

Kern CTTC meets the 2nd Monday of every month.  Membeship is not required to attend.
